HAND WASHING ACTIVITY
On Monday, 9th April, ‘Hand Washing’ activity was held to explain to our pre-primary kids that keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running water. Kids were encouraged to use soap and water to wash their hands appropriately before and after a meal and after using the washroom.
Whether you are at home, dining out, or having dinner with friends, good table manners for kids are an important part of every meal. When we teach our kids good table manners, we are giving them important tools for social interaction that will serve them for the rest of their lives. On Tuesday, 10th April, teachers demonstrated the right way to eat food and have been encouraging kids to follow table etiquettes every day.
One of our dentist parents, Dr. Saloni Parekh visited the Pre-primary kids on Wednesday, 11th April, to talk about the importance of brushing teeth. She explained to the kids the right way to brush teeth. She also got a model of the teeth to let the kids have a real picture of the whole set of teeth. Kids also demonstrated brushing teeth using the
model. We would like to thank Dr. Saloni for taking time out from her busy schedule and educating our kids about oral hygiene.
TEETH BRUSHING ACTIVITY
To follow up with the Dentist’s instruction we had a teeth brushing activity on Thursday, 12th April. Children got their toothbrush and toothpaste to school and teachers directed them to brush their teeth as instructed by the Dentist.

Friday, 13th April was a cause for celebration for Grades I to X as they had the annual class party just before breaking up for summer. The students brought food from home and organized a full- fledged pot-luck party in the classroom, complete with music, games and dance. We are certain that the yummy food, the fun and frolic would remain as good memories throughout the year. Also we would like to thank the parents who went that extra mile to cook all those dishes, much shared and relished by all.

A very interesting and fun activity – ‘balloon racing’ was conducted to help children understand and get a grip on the Newton’s laws. The activity was enjoyed immensely by the children and had them discussing Newton’s laws over lunch and games.
LETS SPREAD HAPPINESS!
Grades IX and X made a visit to Krishna Sadan, an old age home in Medchal as part of their Community Service Programme on Thursday, April 19th . The visit left a deep impact on the students. They were given a history of the place by Mr. Krishna Mohan. They sang for the inmates of the Home- songs that they had been practising for long , bringing smiles to the faces of old people. The visit was an epiphany for many of them leaving them more sensitive to the elderly than earlier. Each one of them claimed to obdurately stand by their parents and elders, through thick and thin. This was our intention- to sensitize these youngsters towards the old!

We are in talks with the SERVICE PROVIDERS to make it a whole school programme. The possibility and feasibility of it will depend on how expensive or how affordable the programme will work out per child. Once we know the Financials involved, we will get back to you to know your feedback and opinions.
In the end a few reminiscences from my years long ago…..
My daughter would come home from school, full of day’s happenings. Would chatter endlessly. I would be busy cooking, tending to various chores. Pretending to listen but not really paying full attention. She would pause mid chatter, tug at my shirt and say “mama, I know you are not listening”. To this day I wish I had turned my full attention to her and had not been preoccupied. Dear parents, these times with your kids will never return. Give them quality time with your full attention and focus. Put your phone or laptop away, turn to them and be part of their experience wholeheartedly. Talk to them and draw them out or just listen.
Enjoy your time together.
