Here’s the fortnightly round up of the medley of activities at Suchitra. Please read on for some interesting news from the Campus….
NEWS FROM PRE-PRIMARY
To generate interest and excitement, and for the students to understand the theme “FARM TO THE TABLE AND TRANSPORT” better through visual effect, the entire Pre-primary was done up with creatively beautiful charts based on the theme.
The new theme ‘Farm to the table’ was introduced to the students on Thursday, 5th October. The students are learning about the various stages of farming, farming tools and farm products. Various interesting rhymes related to the theme are being done too.
MILKING THE COW
To explain the students how farm animals help us and to give them a hands-on experience, a cow was brought to the school premises on Wednesday, 11th October. .
The students were shown the milking process. Children were also explained that milk makes many nutritious and healthy things as cheese, butter, yogurt etc. The students were then made to milk a dummy cow, to enable them to understand the process in a better way. Students thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
Mauve day was celebrated in the Pre-primary on Friday, 13th October, to make the little geniuses aware about the Mauve colour and how it adds beauty to things around us. Children were made aware of this colour through various innovative ideas and were involved in exciting activities. The tiny tots came beautifully dressed to school in ‘mauve’ colour.
Diwali the ‘festival of lights’ came alive at Suchitra Academy (Pre-primary) on Wednesday ,18th October. The pre-primary wore a festive look with Diyas and lanterns done by kids adorning the Pre-primary block. Kids came dressed in colourful attire and exchanged sweets with each other.
Teachers talked about the significance of Diwali and how the festival is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students of the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared the guidelines on being safe while bursting them.

News from high school
EXCURSION PRESENTATION BY GRADE VII
Chaavi Ojha and Swayam M from Grade VII were amongst the many who enjoyed the SCHOOL EXCURSION to Manali, Shimla and Chandigarh. They made a brief presentation on Wednesday, 11th October, highlighting important details and moments of joy experienced throughout the trip.
Ms Rajeshwari Luther from the HOPE TRUST, a treatment facility for addictions held an interactive talk on Thursday, 12th October with the students of Grades VII-X and later with parents about what addiction is, what one has to be wary about as a student and as a parent and what are the changes that happen when one is addicted to a substance.
As a special activity on Thursday, 12th October, LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES were conducted for the students of Grades I-VIII. These activities initiated a feeling of fun for the children, but along the way, they learnt to challenge themselves by searching for opportunities and by experimenting. These activities proved to be a powerful way to inculcate leadership qualities within children.
Fourth International French Olympiad organized by Prayatna Educational Society in collaboration with Alliance Française de Rouen on 10th and 13th October, 2017 respectively. The examination was divided into two parts; Concours Romain Rolland was based on French language and civilization. Another test, French Word Power was based on vocabulary.
SPECIAL Assembly : Festival of lights !
The students of Grade IV B presented their special assembly to mark the occasion of Diwali on Wednesday , 18th October, 2017. All the students participated in the programme. They presented the assembly by speaking about the significance of the festival – the conquest of good over evil. Besides sensitizing students to the ill-effects of crackers, the students also shared with the gathering the guidelines on being safe while bursting them.
An interactive session with the Parent Representatives was held on Saturday ,14th October, mainly to discuss security issues and the various measures being planned to attend to the same. The minutes of the meeting will shortly be sent to all of you.

We have sent consent slips for your child’s participation in the Founder’s Day celebration for Grades IV-VIII. Kindly send your consent as we would want 100% participation. Besides, if your child does not participate, he or she will end up doing nothing as almost the whole class will be busy with practices!
I would like to sign off wishing all of you a happy and safe Diwali. The idea is to remind ourselves that no matter how difficult things might seem, there always is light at the end of the tunnel. Diwali teaches us that you are bigger than your challenges. Our lives are a celebration- let every day be a celebration!
