Namaste Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that the end of the school year has arrived; time has flown away so quickly. The year’s end always brings with it a tremendous sense of accomplishment. So many things have been accomplished this year. Our students have been involved in an extraordinary number of activities and of course, we should not forget the tremendous amount of learning which has taken place during the year.

Here’s the fortnightly round up of the medley of activities at Suchitra. Please read on for some interesting news from the Campus….

Graduation Day

Preschool Graduation, a Milestone worth Celebrating.

On Wednesday, 22nd February, the Sr. KG students earned their moment of honour as they paraded around in their graduation caps and capes. Pre-school had a wonderful graduation ceremony to bid farewell to the Sr. KG kids. We celebrated our children’s achievements and shared memories of their pre-school days. The welcome dance and the graduation song presented by the Sr. KG kids were memorable. The skit presented by the Nursery and Jr.KG kids was a treat to the eyes. The pre-primary mentors sung a heart touching song and bid farewell to the Sr. KG kids.

MEET OUR BOOK SOLDIERS…

DSCN3370.JPG

When did you last see children going around speaking about the books that they have read?  Well, students from Classes VA and VB did just that on Wednesday, 15th February. They went around to Grades II and III to speak about the books that they had read during the library period. They spoke about the book, enacted their favourite scene, recited poems that they wrote, asked their audience to guess and finally told them about the exciting world contained in story-books.

Both sets of students enjoyed the exercise and it seemed a wonderful way to engage students and encourage them to read books.

AFTER AN EXTREMELY EVENTFUL AND FASCINATING YEAR, FINALLY THE MUCH-AWAITED DAY ARRIVED ON 22nd February!!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.” The FAREWELL FOR GRADE X was definitely one such moment. An event organized by the teachers and the students of Grade IX marking the perfect send-off, a beautiful emotional closure.

The evening went past the designs of the beautiful gowns and the fitting of the blazers. It went to a special place, a place that broke the barricades of cliques and divisions. The atmosphere was filled with happiness and celebration, but also mixed with the bitter feeling of “goodbye”. Music, dance and games were a lot of fun. Grade X couldn’t have asked for anything more. They wanted to capture every moment and hence, the endless “selfies” and pictures. The highlight of the event was the Mr. and Ms.Suchitra Contest, where our sporting Grade X participated enthusiastically. After three competitive, yet amusing rounds ParvezShokat Ali Dosani and Ashika  were awarded the title of Mr. and Ms.Suchitra.

With the last day of classes being today and exams beginning on Monday, the 27th, I want to wish you all the best for the final push.

Without a doubt, this can be a stressful time of year. As difficult as it can sometimes feel, I’ve always believed that a little stress can be a good motivator: if we didn’t feel it, we wouldn’t make the extra effort we need to succeed.

Grade X also is preparing to write their final examinations- I wish them the very best in their examinations and in the choices they will have to make in the future.

 Warm Regards

It is amazing, but it is the final month of this academic year. This year has flown by so quickly and the children have grown so much. The Preschoolers had a busy year learning to read and write. We are so proud of their accomplishments this year and will continue to work throughout February on our reading and writing skills. We are very proud of each child’s development. They have all grown a great deal socially as well. The last few weeks of school are going to be very busy as we are preparing to bid farewell to our Sr. KG kids

PMI (PARENT MENTOR INTERACTION)

Saturday , 4th February Parent Mentor Interaction was an overwhelming day for us. It was great to hear parents, few with teary eyes appreciating the hard work put in by our teachers through the year. We will try our best to work on the few suggestions and requests made by our parents for the new academic year.

PBL PRESENTATION

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING is a dynamic approach in which the students actively explore real-world problems, challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge.  The students of Grades I-VII made their presentations on Tuesday, 7th February and Wednesday, 8th February respectively. Each class had identified a ‘real problem’ like Child labour, Farm to plate, Social and Religious Reforms, Science of Culture, ‘Are we Sensitive?’ and Celebrating India.  In this process, students also honed their organizational and research skills, developed better communication with their peers, audience and worked within their community while seeing the positive effect of their work.

If the children have been regular in their study habits, there will be no cause for concern. We have always ensured that we get feedback from you parents- please do have a glance at the last page where parents have commented on the Project Based Learning that was conducted in classes this last week and for which we got an overwhelming response.

Please keep the Portion and Date Sheet well preserved as in the past I have seen kids come to school prepared for a wrong subject on the day.
