It’s Suchitra News Time now !

News from the PRE-PRIMARY

SATURDAY 26TH SEPT-  PMI (PARENT MENTOR INTERACTION)

Thank you, dear parents for coming and sharing your views and concerns about your children. These meetings help us to understand you and your kids better. We will continue to work with the kids towards their overall development.

WEDNESDAY 7TH OCT – VIDEO ON LIFE-CYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY 12140606_1170647119617532_9103712781034226911_n

As we move to our new theme ‘Change is constant & Machines’ children are being introduced to various changes happening around them and in them. Through this theme we are making them aware of the various changes like ‘day and night’ ‘water-cycle’ ‘life-cycle’.

To understand the concept better children were shown a video on the life-cycle of a butterfly. Kids were amazed to watch the various stages that happen before a beautiful butterfly emerges !  We will continue learning of the theme through various activities, videos and experiments.

Every child is special and unique.

Each child develops at a certain pace. It is totally unhealthy for us to compare our children with others because this can only cause them to be very frustrated, jealous and insecure.

Just let your children learn whatever they can without being so conscious of what other children are already capable of doing.

The most important thing is that they enjoy every activity that they do in school. It doesn’t matter whether they fail or succeed in an activity, what matters most is that they try to do their tasks. He or she will be able to do it in his or her own good time. There is no need to hound and chase them, so early on.

This is one way to help your children develop their academic skills.

Do spend one-on-one time with your child. This will help them feel loved and important.

Do assign age-appropriate chores.

Giving children responsibility for tasks such as folding laundry, feed the family pet or picking up things can build responsibility. We want to raise children who are compassionate, happy and productive adults. The things we do when they are children will influence the type of adult they are. It’s never too late or too early to start!!

A sincere request-

Sometimes, dear parents, we report things that may be a bit unpleasant about your child. Please do not think that we are making them up to make your child look bad. When we tell you these things it is for the simple reason that we need your help in dealing with these negative behaviors, which you may not be aware of. Please remember, we are partners in your children’s education.

IMG_4795The much awaited swimming competition was held at the school swimming pool on Thursday, 1st October, 2015. All the students and teachers were enthusiastically cheering the students and their house relay teams. There was a lot of excitement in the air and some of the students displayed excellent swimming styles and techniques. The winners list is given at the end of the newsletter.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMME

The students of grades IX and X had planned a Community Service Program on the same day. The students of a nearby government school were invited to visit the school. The students organized some games for the students and also performed some entertainment programs for the students. The guest  students enjoyed playing the novel games and also sang a few songs themselves! They were visibly thrilled to interact with the students of our school and our school students were the perfect hosts. The students stayed for lunch and relished the tasty food and were gifted some stationery. This was a perfect opportunity for out students to discover the joy of giving and appreciate the fact we have a duty towards the society too.

EYE-CAMP

A free eye-camp was conducted at school on Monday, 5th October by Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital. During their screening program they screened all the students and  staff  for any eye defects, educated them on healthy eating habits and explained the eye straining effects of computers and modern lifestyle. They also counseled the students on preventive and curative tips for vision-related problems. About 100 students of a neighboring government school also attended the eye camp and availed of this opportunity.

26th October                 – School Reopens

Dear Parents I have to share with you our success story together. Education World’s rankings are out for the year 2014-15 and we are among the top 10 schools of the city ! In fact we rank 10th in Hyderabad as well as Telangana and we are pitted against all schools which range from 40 to 100 year old.

And to think that we are just 4.4 month old !!! 20151008_093646

No mean achievement indeed! I absolutely hold my team responsible for this and Congratulate us all !

I have had an overwhelming response to the mail that I sent on 7th Oct. regarding the shabby treatment of my teachers at the hands of some very few parents. The amazing support that you have shown for all of us at school and the anger at the parents who lose their manners has revalidated my faith in what we all do i.e. teach.

Thank you so much for all the heartfelt mails and a bouquet of flowers too !!! that have been sent. We feel so loved, so appreciated, so grateful and so humbled.

We are partners in this venture called ‘child’ and let us please stay that way.

Warm Regards

Renu Shorey
